Monday 26th May. The Ta’am Ha’Ir (Taste of the City in Hebrew) festival is on. Only just having heard about this from Tal my thoughts are of small food stalls along the riverside and a few hundred people casually walking around sampling tasty treats from Tel Aviv’s wonderful restaurants, sipping on some nice wines and perhaps listening to some cool jazz. Wednesday evening, having finished the editing at the ABC I met up with Tal in a popular nightlife area on Ben Yehuda Mall. The strip was busy with families on holidays, every cafe with outdoor seating was filled even though the outside temperature was around 30 humid degrees. Wednesday the 16th of April. I’m counterbalancing the healthy walking with doses of felafel, beer and kosher pickles. I’m getting a tan but not on my bloody legs where I want it the most. Is it the hair? Should I shave my legs? Is that kosher here?
