Haifa cat gang.
A gangly gang of gritty gats…I mean cats…were terrorising tourists traveling through Tel Aviv… I mean Haifa…today. The gang of almost identical mangey pusses on the Haifa foreshore mob passing old ladies, tackling them and sinking their sharp fang like teeth into their cankles.
This old fart never stood a chance.
Sort of like a homeless man who has character about him…till...

Haifa roadtrip part 2.
After our surf off the shores of Ceasarea we discussed the options of either heading back to Tel Aviv or continuing further north on our road trip. As Miles hadn’t packed a change of clothes and was only wearing shorts it was agreed that we would head back to Rehovot so he could grab a pair.
Miles makes a quick call from outside a highway petrol station. Luckily no one crashed while driving...

Israel’s best security measure.
Israel have adopted a new security device in the form of a giant duck perched atop of the building in the main square in Tel Aviv. Hidden inside are high powered survailence cameras able to recognise faces in a crowd. The idea is that people will be curious enough to look up at the fluffy ducky that the cameras will have enough time to photograph potential terrorists, expecting mothers who smoke, fat...

Catch up with Etty
Hi all, been a few days without a post but I wasn’t feeling well, a little cold and cough, and staying in bed and watched tv so didn’t really have much to blog about. I’m ok now, still a little cough but nothing to get worried about Mum, aunty, anyone else.
This post is from Friday 17th May. I have a post to write from the day before but need to get photos off my mobile phone before...

Going to Greece and Turkey.
Great news. I have been offered some work for North One TV, the same company I worked with during the Australian Open Tennis in Melbourne back in January. Although this time I’ll be working with them in Greece and Turkey for the World Rally Championship. So I get a free flight from Tel Aviv to Athens where I’ll work for a few days then stay a week longer to see Greece, then it’s off...

Alicia Byrne’s weather report part 2.
Time for some comparisons between the travels of Elahn and Alicia. For a start Melbuorne is freezing cold with the chance of 7 layers of jumpers.
Meanwhile, I’m slowly taking more and more clothing off while sitting on the beach in Tel Aviv.
Alicia travels far and wide and meets the locals. Brrrr, it still is freezing here!
While Alicia warms herself agains the hot skin of a horsey, I get...

Israeli pride.
With Israel’s 60th last week I’ve noticed a strong feeling of patriotism here not felt in Australia. Sure we have Australia Day and every bloke and his mates done the flag like a cape and proceed to get themselves paralitic on booze then running roit on anyone looking vaguely like an immigrant.
In Israel the bright blue and white flag is seen in apartment windows, flying on car roofs, on...

Going for a walk with aunty.
Although I’ve been keeping active, it involved a lot of cafes with friends for coffee, heading to the beach, lazing in the sun, going out to bars. Lots of photos but not really that news worthy. A phone call from aunty brings me back to reality with questions like “Why don’t you call me?”, “Are you eating well?”, “Are you having fun?”, “Why don’t...

Petra daytrip.
Petra is a newly added wonder of the world. Located in Jordan it was more famously put on the map in recent years thanks to the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade movie. For those who need a dose of hollywood buzz, here’s a clip from the movie.
And here is some stupid tourist clip. Wanker.
