New Simpsons opener for HD

It’s been almost 19 years but The Simpsons has never failed on staying fresh and entertaining. The one thing that has stayed the same, apart from the kids never growing up has been the opening sequence, till now.

Here is the new opener which makes great use of the widescreen format (16:9) to highlight changes to the lives of the townsfolk of Springfield as well as expanding on lost screen realestate of familiar shots from the old opener. I had to watch it a few times and even pause it as you pick up on small details in the background as well as from the sides of the picture.
