Crazy Kong.
Writing this post from Jacobs apartment in downtown Hong Kong. Outside it’s raining, windy, humid and hot. Jacob, like me, goes through several shirts a day due to them getting soaked in sweat, usually his own, sometimes from spitting locals.
Mostly the Hong Kongians are friendly, sociable, honest and sincere. Everywhere I’ve been, in every restaurant and shop they are very welcoming, not too loud (like those Israelis!) and are surprised that a “round eye” like me has parents born in China. It blows their mind!
I’ve managed to spend some time with cousin Jacob and his friends and am having a great time in the process. There are many things I cannot write about here though but I’m sure to pass on some stories in private to some of you. The rest is pending a court order and possible fine for indecent behaviour!
The Red Lantern district of Hong Kong. Right next to the Blue Paperweight district.
A fish market.
A meat market.
A vegetable market. You get the idea.
Hong Kong has a great public transport system. Taxis, busses, double decker trams, ferries and a magnificent metro train network makes it possible to get anywhere quickly. As it was a British colony at one stage most of the streets are given English names like Queens Road, Gough Road, Posh Spice Lane, etc. Walking around you’d swear you were in Chinatown. Oh right….

Me riding a double decker tram.

Many buildings surround HK. A lot of them look quite unappealing from the outside, and most look probably the same from the inside.
The dark grey clouds hang overhead. It’s been raining almost all the time since I’ve arrived.

Some nerdy Chinese dude says “Try the chicken innards. They are great stuff!!”
A restaurant I eat lunch at. Complete with your own tv.
My lunch of meat, rice and vegies as well as a soup served in a winter melon. They hopefully don’t reuse the melons.
Some kittens at the nextdoor petshop (Next to a restaurant???)
Ha hahahahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha!!! See larger.
Last night Jacob took me out to a couple of clubs. He’s well connected here and knows a lot of people (Jack Nicholson, Jackie Chan. Seriously. That is not a joke). There is one club he told me about called Dragon-I. On Wednesdays they have a night where they feed models for free. Those poor skinny hotties need a free feed every now and then. Gotta put some meat on their bones so you can hold on to them.
There are models in the background. I have no idea what this guy was doing.
Jacob chats to a friend.
Sharing a Japanese dinner.

Cute kittens, though the second shot is a little disturbing…
As for the meat market — not the variety of meat market we’ve come to expect from you…
