Saturday Lazy
The afternoon after the night before. Not that I drunk a lot but a good 8 hours sleep had me feeling refreshed and ready to head out for some more punishment.
My feet were killing me but the desire to explore outweighed any discomfort felt in my feet, legs, back and neck. Nothing really.
I saw this guy who had a ripper of a scooter. He really liked music. He never heard of an ipod.

The i-scooter. Holds 4 songs.
I was feeling a little guilty that I hadn’t seen Aunty since I arrived in Tel Aviv so I went for a visit. Mum had been spending a lot of time with her, thus adding to my guilt! Sheesh!

Mum chatting with Aunty. See larger.
I brought Aunty a bunch of roses (see above) that she absolutely loved. So much so she dug into her bedroom closet for a book of poetry she wrote. Here is one she read to me. I took a video of it but am having trouble uploading it. Will add when I can.
How beautiful can flowers be!
The petals delicate and pink,
Some violet and deeply red.
I look at them and think of thee.
I think of thee and you and you,
Without these thoughts I would not be.
They stand in transparent green glass,
On elegant and graceful stalks,
As casual as in the grass.
Like dancers on pointed toes,
Their leaves are (dainty) as a lace.
Their fragrance on the air (….),
They’re fading silently with grace.
I look at them and think of thee.
I think of thee and you and you!
Without these thoughts I wouldn’t be!
…………………………….
I was just blown away by this. She has books and books of them, most in English but also in Russian and Hebrew. It was great to hear them. I’d love to get them typed up and bound. That’s my next project.
Saturday evening mum and I went to dinner with Cocka and Erez. Driving up to Herzelia Cocka took us to a very nice restaurant that served a very middle eastern style menu. The restaurant was very modern looking with a bar, plush seating, parking for camels out the back and 42 soccer games showing on the tv’s around the walls.

Many salad dishes accompanied by cold pita bread and hot beer.

Mum enjoys a tonsil tickling pickle.

Cocka chews on a chook skewer.

Erez erodes an eastern entree.

I have a quick sleep after coming up with nothing funny to say.

Two good friends. Two Jewish mothers. Two sons. Do the math!
