Blisters in the Sun
Friday 11th April. Weight 90kgs, Height 5’10″. Sun shining and cool breeze.
Cocka has been a wonderful host. Her apartment is on the 4th floor and has 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a livingroom and small kitchen with adjoining laundry.

Heading out at about 10am i took the bus down to a well known shopping area called Sheinkin Street. It’s full of cafes, clothing, arts and crafts. It’s similar to what you may see on Oxford St in Paddington, Sydney.

I really could have been anywhere in Melbourne. The only thing that made it different was a lot of Hebrew being spoken…. and every car honking every other car to let them know they overtook them. I also found it very interesting to see graffiti on walls, down laneways, on fences and on the ground. Looking around I could also spot the random stencil artwork as well as the curious signs. I spent the rest of the day and night keeping on the lookout for more artwork and came up with a healthy amount to show. I’ll put them up on a new page but for now you can see them here.

I couldn’t help but ask this guy if I could take his photo telling him he looked like someone I know from back home. Can you guess who? I got the look from him as if he wasn’t sure if I was a stupid tourist who liked older tanner men, or i was actually a secret service agent out to bust him for abuses to camels.
As Israel is in constant preparedness for attack from hostile neighbours (like…all of them!), citizens are kept on alert by roving cyclists with big signs.

Hark i hear the tootling horn!
As is somewhat customary in western society to get tattoo’s of asian characters, celtic patterns or anything else in a foreign language, so too do the Israeli hardmen who think a tattoo of a dolphin is perhaps the toughest image you can put on yourself. I was so scared I almost wet myself laughing.

Don’t fuck with Flipper
Once I got back up off the ground from pissing myself I continued south towards Old Jaffa to meet Leon Peters. I had to stop however when I saw this movie poster on a bus shelter. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but something was a little strange. It wasn’t that all the text was in Hebrew, nor was it anything to do with the movie having been shot in QLD, but if you look at Kate Hudson’s face it may come to you.

Is Kate Hudson 14 years old in this picture?
More to come.
